At first, it does sound funny that Yahoo! uses Google tools, but thinking about it, Yahoo! is a Web 2.0 frontrunner and one of the core technologies/philosophies about Web 2.0 is Mashups. So true to Web 2.0 spirit, they're doing the right thing!

This whole Yahoo that Google's thing sounded familiar, so I did some reading. Here is 'n quote from The Google Story (ISBN 0-330-44005-5) by David A. Vise "On June 26, 2000 Google took a giant leap toward universal recognition by inking a pact with Yahoo to provide the Internet powerhouse with Google-generated search results." According to the book Yahoo previously used Inktomi as its search-result provider.
