    Hi!
    From http://www.mxit.co.za/wap ->Help -> Phone Specific Help
I got this info for the Nokia – 6822

Ensure you have downloaded the correct MXit version
from the following MXit website http://www.mxit.co.za/wap
We do not provide support for any other versions

    Get correct GPRS settings:
    MTN : Dial *123*13#
    Vodacom : Dial *111# (Option 4 or 5)
CellC : Send an SMS containing SMARTDATA to 084 155 9911 (Costs R2.00)
When prompted to make the settings the default, select Yes
From your phone, go to http://www.mxit.co.za/wap

Some of these Nokia models require additional settings

    Do the following:
    1. Select menu
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select Configuration
    4. Select Personal Configuration Settings
    5. Select Add or Add New
    6. Select Access point
Account name call it MXit APN
    7. Go back to Personal configuration settings
    8. Select the new Access Point called MXit APN
    9. Set as Preferred Access Point and activate in all applications

    16. Verify Password: mxit
    17. Now start MXit from your Applications – Collections
    18. When MXit opens ALLOW Network Access Select YES
    19. Web Settings should now show MXit APN (The one you just created)

When you downloaded MXit, do not run it immediately (if prompted).
Exit (close) the WAP session you opened to download, or reboot the phone.

It is similar to installing a new application on a PC, you need to reboot.

    Good luck!

How do i get moola if in on my computer i know i have to sms it but where and how?

    def says:
    Yes, it’s possible!

If you using MXit on the PC, you must use your cellphone number! Then, you can top up your MXit Moola by sending a SMS from your cellphone!

You get Moola on the MXit user/login that you send the SMS from (that simcard number).
    In other words:
You have a login (your phone number). You have a phone number (sim card).
When you SMS MXit from that phone number (sim card), that phone number (login), gets the Moola!

Here are the numbers you sms to (South African)

Moola is the official MXit currency and is valued at R1.00 per 100 Moola
Send a blank SMS to 34006 for 200 Moola (R2.00)
Send a blank SMS to 36104 for 500 Moola (R5.00)
Send a blank SMS to 39002 for 1520 Moola (R15.00) [Added 20 Moola Bonus]

    Hay, SonyEricsson w550i,

Well, on the mxit wap site it says:

    * Ensure you have downloaded the correct MXit version
from the following MXit website http://www.mxit.co.za/wap

    * Get correct GPRS settings:
    MTN : Dial *123*13#

When prompted to make the settings the default, select Yes
From your phone, go to http://www.mxit.co.za/wap

    1. Goto SETTINGS – CONNECTIVITY – JAVA SETTINGS – INTERNET PROFILE
If you are on Vodacom: Choose “Internet.GPRS”, “Vodacom4me” or “Vodacom”
If you are on MTN: Choose “MTN GPRS”
If you are on Cell-C: Choose “Smartdata”

In case you need the JAD and the JAR separately:
    http://www.mxit.co.za/wap/mxitj/mxitj.jad
    http://www.mxit.co.za/wap/mxitj/mxitj.jar

I think you might need to download the JAD and JAR file seperately if it doesn’t work!

    hey
ive just downloaded Mxit V5 on my sony ericsson k700i and i wanna know how do i get skins where to i need to go?

    def says:
    Hay,

The new MXit Skinz will be available through the Tradepost contact in MXit!
There aren’t there yet 😉 There was one pink skin earlier on, but it was removed apparantly because of all the traffic it was generating!

So the Skinz option in Tradepost should be back up pretty soon.
Most skins will cost Moola though!

    Enjoy pimping your MXit!

I’ve bought more moola but found that it doesnt display it on joe banker. It doesnt show my balance increase. How do I solve this problem?

    def says:
    1) Check the number you are registered with in MXit: Menu -> Settings -> Profile.
The Cell number: … is the number you are logged in as.
    2) When you send an sms, it must come from THAT number in your profile.
    3) The number you send the sms from will have Moola on their MXit login.

i have a samsung z500. when logged on to mxit it is very very slow. no1 gets my messages and i cant do anythiig. help please

    def says:
Hi, I checked the the Phone Specific help on mxit.co.za/wap and it says the following for the Z500:

    • Get correct GPRS settings:
      MTN : Dial *123*13#
      Vodacom : Dial *111# (Option 4 or 5)
CellC : Send an SMS containing SMARTDATA to 084 155 9911 (Costs R2.00)
When prompted to make the settings the default, select Yes
    • From your phone, go to http://www.mxit.co.za/wap
      and download mixit from there.
    • To get MXit to connect:
Go to MENU – GAMES and MORE – MXit – OPTIONS
Phone Call – activate per access
      Network Access – per session
      Messaging – always connect
      Local Connectivity – per access
    • If you still have connection problems try this:
Go to SETTINGS – NETWORK SERVICES – NETWORK SELECTION – Select MANUAL
(Scans Network – Selet your Network Provider)
      RSA Vodacom
      RSA MTN
      RSA Cell C
Go to SETTINGS – NETWORK SERVICES – BAND SELECTION – Select GSM 900/1800
Turn your phone off and back on.
    • If you still having problems:
The symptoms seem to be similar to what people were experiencing with the Samsung E700,
namely they could login/register, but after one or two messages the network connection stopped
working. This is a problem specific to that range of Samsung phones and how they connect to the
      GPRS network.

Hi I found out someone has ‘hacked’ into my account and I am sure its someone i know and have as a contact. Is there anyway how i can find the person’s number so that i can check who has been using my mxit.I changed my pin so its not happening anymore but I need to know who it was.
    —————————
    ‘hacked’? Cracked?
Unlikely, unless they guessed your password. (Was it something too easy like 0000 or 1234?)

Sorry, there is no way to determine who logged into your account. The information about whose number is used to login to MXit is never sent from the phone. So your number never leaves your phone, unless its through a phone call or SMS.

when i’m on mxit, it always disconnects, when a connect again, it stays online for a while, and then diconnects again. How is it possible to fix this???
    —–
    Hi!
This is quite common, try this first:
    1)
    Go to Menu
    Settings
    Phone Settings
    Network Mode
    Change it to GSM

    That should help!
    Otherwise, try this
    2) If you experience connectivity problems try doing the following:
Go to Office – Security – Symantec page shows auto-protect status and firewall level.
Choose Options – Firewall Configuration – Set it to Low
This allows traffic in and out of your phone.
